The Regulation of the Ambassador

of the L.N.Tolstoy International Peace Prize Foundation

1.These Regulations define the Ambassador of the L.N.Tolstoy International Peace Prize Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the Foundation), reveal its mission, determines the procedure for selecting candidates and their appointment.
2.Ambassador of the L.N.Tolstoy International Peace Prize Foundation is an honorary title awarded to Russian and foreign citizens who share the goal and objectives of the Foundation. In his activities, the Ambassador of the Foundation:
·promotes a positive perception of Russia abroad;
·makes efforts to counter the threat of the outbreak of World War III and prevent a nuclear catastrophe;
·promotes universal and equal security based on the rule of international law;
·contributes to the cessation of the arms race;
·promotes mutual understanding and cooperation between peoples;
·promotes the construction of a multipolar and nonviolent world;
·promotes the ideas of demilitarization, democratization and humanization of international relations based on generally accepted norms of morality and law;
·advocates for the protection of human rights and freedoms;
·informs the public about the activities of the Foundation.
3.Well-known figures of culture, science, art, representatives of socio-political circles, mass media, business, athletes, etc. may be appointed Ambassadors of the Foundation.
4.The decision on the appointment of an Ambassador of the Foundation is made by the General Meeting upon the recommendation of the Director of the Foundation. The Ambassador of the Foundation is presented with a certificate signed by the Director of the Foundation and a lapel badge.
5.The Ambassador of the Foundation is guided by the Foundation's statutory documents, as well as its activities are carried out strictly within the legal framework of the host country.
6.The Ambassador of the Foundation may participate in events and meetings held by the Foundation.
7.The multifaceted activities of the Foundation's Ambassador are carried out on a voluntary basis.
