This is to offer my profuse thanks to you for the wonderful opportunity to participate at the meeting of the international jury to select this year’s recipients for the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize. It was a memorable event. I have no doubts that the recipients will contribute to protect peace in Eurasia/ Central Asia to which India is also connected.
I must also express my appreciation of the meeting at the Moscow State Institute of International Affairs where I spoke about the long and enduring ties between India and Russia, initiated in modern times by Tsar Peter, continued significantly by the great Leo Tolstoy and carried forward in the 20th century. I was also happy to speak for a RT interview. And then the momentous finale of hearing and seeing Valery Gergiev conduct his brilliant orchestra.
I profusely thank the Foundation for the care and concern that has been showed during my stay in Moscow.
