On April 22, the Russian Foreign Ministry's Reception House hosted a gala reception on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, to celebrate Orthodox Easter. The event was attended by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, representatives of other traditional religions, Russian government and public figures, and the diplomatic corps.
The Minister congratulated Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, as well as all the participants of the reception, on the holiday, and praised the ministerial-ecclesiastical cooperation in strengthening the moral foundation of international relations, fostering trust and mutual respect between nations, and providing spiritual support to compatriots abroad.
In his speech, the Foreign Minister addressed pressing issues on the current international agenda, including the preservation and protection of the Christian presence in the Middle East, North Africa, and other regions of the world, traditional spiritual and moral values, and intercivilizational dialogue.
