The Russian Historical Society, the History of the Fatherland Foundation, and Russian Railways signed an agreement on cooperation
On August 1, 2025, a signing ceremony was held for the cooperation agreement between the Russian Historical Society, the History of the Fatherland Foundation, and Russian Railways. The document was signed by Sergey Naryshkin, Chairman of the Russian Historical Society and Chairman of the History of the Fatherland Foundation, and Oleg Belozyorov, General Director and Chairman of the Management Board of Russian Railways. As Sergey Naryshkin noted, the hard work of railway workers, their professionalism, and their courage have repeatedly helped the country in the most difficult times: "The history of railways in Russia is an important part of the history of our great country. From the Tsarskoye Selo Railway to the present day, the railway network has played an extremely important strategic role in connecting the regions of our vast country. And, of course, the hard work, and sometimes the courage and heroism of railway workers, have repeatedly helped our country in the most difficult periods of our history. It is enough to recall the heroism of railway workers during the Great Patriotic War. The work of railway workers brought victory over a very strong and treacherous enemy closer and ensured it. Today, thousands of railway workers are fulfilling their duty both in the special military operation zone and in the border regions.” “I hope that the new trilateral agreement that we have signed today will open up new areas for our fruitful cooperation and give it an additional boost,” Sergey Naryshkin added. In addition, the Chairman of the RIО congratulated Oleg Belozyorov and the entire staff of JSC Russian Railways on the upcoming professional holiday, Railway Workers' Day, which is celebrated on August 3. In turn, Oleg Belozyorov emphasized: "Russian Railways pays great attention to preserving the historical memory and rich cultural heritage of Russia. The cooperation agreement that we signed today will help us implement many important and interesting projects for the benefit of our country." The document defines several areas of cooperation, including the development and implementation of joint projects aimed at promoting Russian history in Russia and abroad, preserving historical heritage, and supporting historical education programs.
