On October 28, a meeting of the World Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots (WCCR) was held in Moscow with the organizational support of the Secretariat of the Governmental Commission for the Affairs of Compatriots Abroad (PCAC).
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Moscow Government, the Moscow House of Compatriots, the Foundation for the Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad, the Institute of the Russian Diaspora, the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize Foundation, and the Department of External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The BKCPC members noted the intensification of the work of the country coordination councils of Russian compatriot organizations, and expressed their gratitude to the PCDSP, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, for its assistance to diaspora associations in the implementation of the Comprehensive Plan of Major Measures for the Implementation of the State Policy of the Russian Federation in Relation to Compatriots for 2024-2026.
Representatives of the Russian diaspora expressed their solidarity with the efforts of the Russian state to protect its sovereignty and ensure the rights and legitimate interests of Russian citizens. They also discussed the preparations for the World Thematic Conference of Russian Compatriots "80th Anniversary of the Great Victory. Preserving the Historical Truth" (Moscow, October 29-30, 2025).
Mikhail Drozdov presented the Honorary Signs of the World Coordinating Council of Compatriots
During the 54th meeting of the World Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad, the Chairman of the WCRS, Mikhail Drozdov, presented the Honorary Signs of the World Coordinating Council of Compatriots.
Among the awardees is Vladimir Georgievich Pozdorovkin, First Deputy Executive Director of the Foundation for Support and Protection of the Rights of Compatriots Living Abroad.
The Chairman of the World Coordinating Council of Compatriots recalled that the decision to award the medal was made back in the summer, in connection with the 80th anniversary of Vladimir Georgievich, who made a significant contribution to the development of the compatriots movement and its human rights direction.
Also, the Honorary Badge of the World Coordinating Council of Compatriots was awarded to Doku Gapurovich Zavgaev, Director of the Foundation of the International Peace Prize named after L. N. Tolstoy.
