A member of the jury of the International Peace Prize named after L. N. Tolstoy, Professor Liu Wenfei, who was invited to Moscow for the award ceremony for the 2026 laureate, visited the Prize Foundation, where he met in a warm and friendly atmosphere with the Foundation’s president, D. G. Zavgaev; the Foundation’s first deputy executive director, I. A. Makeichev; and the Foundation’s deputy executive director, V. A. Karasev. Liu Wenfei is a well‑known Chinese writer, translator, and literary scholar who made a significant contribution to popularizing Russian literature in China. Foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, holder of the Order of Friendship of the Russian Federation. A constructive discussion took place about the growing role of the new public award in promoting the consolidation of efforts by the international community aimed at countering the threat of unleashing a third world war and preventing a nuclear catastrophe, ensuring universal and equal security based on the rule of international law, strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between peoples, and addressing the global problems of our time. D.G. Zavgaev emphasized that the positive perception of the award is largely due to the exceptionally responsible and objective approach of the international jury to decision‑making, which is based on the real contribution of the laureates to achieving the goals proclaimed in the award’s statute. During an engaged exchange of views on the further promotion of the ideas and values of the award, D.G. Zavgaev spoke about the establishment of the honorary title of Ambassador of the Foundation, the tasks of which include working in the name of the noble ideas of peacekeeping, protecting human rights and freedoms, fostering a just multipolar world order, and also informing the public about the Foundation’s activities. Liu Wenfei reacted to this information with interest and expressed his readiness to submit a proposal regarding the relevant candidate to the Foundation. The parties also discussed the possibility of publishing books by Chinese authors in Russia in Russian to build the Foundation’s library.
