Vladimir Beklyamishev, Executive Director of the Foundation, has headed the Coordination Council for Young Scientists

The Presidium of the Presidential Council for Science and Education approved the new composition of the Coordination Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres.
The new composition includes 36 people, representatives of young scientists' councils, student scientific societies, and specialized youth public associations.
Vladimir Beklyamishev, a member of the Board of the Russian Historical Society, Director of the Center for Country Studies Analysis in the Scientific and Educational Sphere at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, and Executive Director of the Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize Foundation, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Coordination Council.
"Today, there are more than 140,000 young researchers in Russia who are successfully working in scientific organizations, universities, and high-tech companies. This is a huge potential for our country, as these are passionate and thoughtful individuals who are ready to both propose and implement their ideas.
The purpose of the Coordination Council is to strengthen the dialogue between the Presidential Council for Science and Education and this large and active community, to improve support measures for young researchers, and to involve young scientists in solving the country's challenges. A separate track is dedicated to the popularization of science and extensive educational activities. The previous composition of the Coordination Council set a very high standard. We need to continue what we have started and form our own agenda as soon as possible. We are open to cooperation with anyone who shares our commitment to developing Russian science, advanced technologies, and higher education," — said Vladimir Beklyamishev.
The idea of creating a Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the scientific and educational fields was supported by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Council for Science, Technology, and Education in 2005. Over the years, the Coordinating Council has remained an important feedback mechanism for the country's scientific youth.
The Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational Spheres is an advisory body of the Presidential Council for Science and Education. In addition, the Council interacts with the Councils of Young Scientists and student scientific societies, and implements scientific and educational projects.
