The Laureate of the L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize is To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam

Following the meeting of the jury, the laureate of the L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize for 2026 has been announced: To Lam, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The Vietnamese leader has been honored with this prestigious international public award for his significant personal contribution to strengthening peace and cooperation among nations.

The L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize was established to recognize individuals and organizations that have made a significant contribution to strengthening peace, mutual understanding, and cooperation among nations based on the principles of non-violence, humanism, and intercultural dialogue.

Under the leadership of President To Lam, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has become one of the fastest-growing economies of the Asia-Pacific region while preserving its civilizational identity within the mosaic of a multipolar world. The members of the jury of the L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize particularly noted the Vietnamese leader's contribution to shaping a new regional architecture of equal and indivisible security on a non-discriminatory basis, as well as his commitment to the ideas of a just world order grounded in international law.

The jury of the L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize comprises political, public, and cultural figures from Argentina, Belarus, India, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, France, the Republic of South Africa, and Japan, all of whom enjoy high standing in their professional fields and broad international renown. The Chairman of the Jury is the renowned conductor, Artistic Director and General Director of the Mariinsky Theatre, General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre, Valery Gergiev.
This year, the L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize is being awarded for the third time. In 2024, the first prize was presented to the African Union for its significant contribution to strengthening peace. In 2025, the laureates were Sadyr Zhaparov, President of the Kyrgyz Republic; Emomali Rahmon, President of the Republic of Tajikistan; and Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The date of the official award ceremony of the L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize will be announced shortly.

Among them are French public figure Pierre de Gaulle (France); Vice President of the Chinese Association for the Study of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia Wenfei Liu (PRC); member of the National Executive Committee of the African National Congress and Member of the National Assembly of South Africa Lindiwe Sisulu (South Africa); Argentine human rights advocate and public figure María Victoria Alcaraz (Argentina); Indian writer and public figure Achala Moulik (India); statesman, political figure, and former Prime Minister of Japan Yukio Hatoyama (Japan); political and public figure, Member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Oleg Gaidukevich (Belarus); Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Honored Worker of the Diplomatic Service of the Russian Federation Sergey Razov (Russia); statesman, political and public figure, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation (1999) Sergei Stepashin (Russia); Director General of the State Museum of L.N. Tolstoy and great-great-grandson of L.N. Tolstoy Vladimir Tolstoy (Russia); and the Chairman of the Jury — conductor, Artistic Director – Director of the Mariinsky Theatre, General Director of the Bolshoi Theatre, People's Artist of Russia Valery Gergiev (Russia).
