Vladimir Tolstoy: The Leo Tolstoy Prize calls for a multipolar dialogue

ST. PETERSBURG, June 3. The L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize not only conveys the classic's ideas about humanity and personal responsibility, but also serves as a call for a multipolar dialogue. This opinion was shared by Vladimir Tolstoy, Director of the L.N. Tolstoy Museum and a member of the jury of the L.N. Tolstoy International Peace Prize, during a panel session titled "The Russian Language as a Treasure and Strategic Asset: From National Policy to Global Influence" at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
"As someone who preserves the legacy of Leo Tolstoy, it is especially important for me that his ideas of non-violence, humanity, and personal responsibility have taken on a new institutional dimension. The Leo Tolstoy International Peace Prize has become a moral signal to the global community that the era of unilateral solutions is coming to an end. It is being replaced by a multipolar world that values intercivilizational dialogue. In this sense, the promotion of the Russian language and the International Prize named after it go hand in hand: we are teaching the world to hear not only words, but also the meanings embedded in our culture," he said.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is taking place from June 3 to 6. The main theme is "Pragmatic Dialogue - the Path to a Stable Future." The forum's program focuses on shaping a new model of global development in the context of the transformation of the global economy.
